New Day Arborist is a family owned and growing tree service company located in Ridgefield, Washington. We service the Southwest Washington and Portland Metro area with our clients, the trees, and the landscape needs in mind. We utilize the latest techniques to assess and mitigate potential hazards and problems in trees. From proper treatment of landscape turf and shrubs to safe and professional pruning and removal of trees, we pride ourselves on our ability to balance our clients’ needs with that of the existing urban landscape.

Garrett Day - Owner - Certified Arborist & Tree Service Expert

Garrett has been working in the tree care industry for 13 years and has been around the green industries his whole life. In 2024, he purchased the remaining portion of the business from his father, Jeff, and manages the company with his wife Kaitlin. Garrett enjoys many aspects of the business, from providing estimates, project management, business management, and employer responsibilities. Running a small business has a wide range of requirements and he enjoys the variety of responsibilities it brings. His main goals are to provide clients with the best local tree care service and experience. He is proud to provide employees with a safe positive workplace to follow their passions for tree care and the green industry.

Andrew Craig

Andrew has been an Arborist for 24 years. He has been performing tree care, pruning and removals in the Portland, Vancouver area since 2000. He has been in the green industry for over 40 years. He excels at diagnostics, and Tree Risk Assessment. Andrew enjoys discussing plant material, and trees, as well as landscape design and plant material choice. He has been working for New Day Arborist since February of 2022. He has proven to be a valuable member of the staff with decades of experience, and knowledge in our industry.

Mike Mills

Mike has been working in the green industry for over 30 years. He has years of experience throughout all aspects of our industry from removals, to pruning, and plant healthcare. Mike has been a Certified Arborist since 1991. He has worked running his own business, as well as working for one of Portland premier tree services. In 2025 Mike decided to come and work closer to home, and at a smaller company with more emphasis on customer service and employee retention. Currently Mike handles all of New Days' small ornamental pruning, employee training, and quality assurance. Mike served 4 years in the Army, and served additional time in the Army Reserves. He is currently the areas organizational liaison for "Saluting Branches" which is a non profit that honors service members by providing tree care to local Veteran Affairs sites, as well as national cemeteries.

Colin Moschetti

Colin is an isa certified arborist and has been working with trees for over fifteen years. Prior to becoming an employee at New Day he was a crew lead and estimator with another local company. Before Colin became an arborist, he was involved in commercial landscape construction as a project manager. As a sixth generation Washingtonian, he is very familiar with our local flora and fauna. Colin enjoys being outdoors, fishing, and talking about trees!

Jeff Day - Certified Master Arborist & Tree Service Expert

Jeff Day is the founder of New Day Maintenance and the Previous Owner Jeff Day is a Board Certified Master Arborist and tree service expert with more than 40 years of horticultural experience. Throughout his career, Jeff has devoted himself to providing the best tree service and products possible. He has worked in every part of the urban landscape management industry throughout his life. As an owner of a retail nursery in SW Washington, to landscape installation and maintenance, and currently as a Consulting Arborist he has the experience, knowledge, and passion of horticultural biology to assist our clients with their tree and landscape needs.
